As a therapist, I accept that while every client brings their unique experience of themselves and their world to therapy, LGBTQ+ clients have developed, live, love, and work in the context of our societal prejudices about gender and sexuality.
I adhere to the WPATH Standard of Care in my work with trans clients, and agree and affirm that “being transsexual, transgender, or gender nonconforming is a matter of diversity, not pathology.”
