Individual Therapy

People come to counseling for different reasons. Sometimes they know they need to change something and they need some help to make those changes. Others know something's wrong but don't know what to do or how to really help themselves.

Depending on your goals, we may focus on:

Modifying long-standing patterns that no longer work for you
Acquiring new coping skills and incorporating already successful coping strategies into other parts of your life
Enhancing interpersonal communication
Improving self-esteem and promoting an overall sense of well-being and health
Increasing motivation and problem solving abilities
Decreasing anxiety, depression and other distressing emotional states
Processing past trauma that continues to cause problems for you today

I believe that everyone has strong innate coping skills and we will use those as the foundation for our work together.
